The mission of the institute is to develop materials for optoelectronics, to design optoelectronic devices for cultivation through industrial applications, and to use innovative optoelectronics-based techniques for art restoration and environmental monitoring/remediation fields.

 

The research and development activities currently carried out are aimed at:

  • Optoelectronic engineering and analytical instruments;
  • Fostering research cooperation through collaboration with universities and other higher education institutions;
  • Development of international collaboration in EU-funded and bilateral projects;
  • Strengthen institutional capacity building through postgraduate education (MSc and PhD students included in research teams), staff development, curriculum design, research and development;
  • to use the legal framework for efficient know-how and technology transfer to public institutions and companies;
  • to enhance scientific views, broaden dissemination and promote the valorization of research;
  • updating research facilities;
  • creating a stimulating and competitive, researcher-friendly environment through an updated management system.
